Outreach Work

New and existing Training Schools should demonstrate training experiences that go beyond that expected of a well-managed institution.

This 'additionality' is seen in the spread of our work with other schools, and through strong links with initial teacher training providers, local authorities and related agencies.

• HGS has strong links with local HEIs

• We host placements for local Police students

• Our ICT technicians visit local primary schools

• We work with Jarvis Training for Support Staff working towards their SWIS qualification

• Our librarian is currently training as an NVQ assessor in Information and Libary Services and is looking to work with librarians in other local schools who may wish to achieve this NVQ.

• We currently provide information courses for parents wishing to learn more about HE options.
